I don't appear to fall into any of the tuition categories, how much should I pay?
If your profession is not listed clearly in one of the tuition categories on the registration page, you should register using the second category for Allied Health Professionals. Click here to return to the Tuition page.
I am a part-time/long-distance student - can I get the student rate?
The student rate is solely for full-time students. Those who register as students are required to fax a copy of their student ID to 202-966-2589 within one week of registering. Failure to do so will result in being charged the non-student rate.
Can I attend half / part of the program?
Because this is a training program, not a conference, we ask for a commitment from you to attend the entire training program, including all didactic and group sessions.
What does my tuition cover? Does the tuition include accommodations? How can I reduce my travel costs?
Tuition covers all lectures, small groups and Best of Stress Management Kit (digital version) and Dr. Gordon’s book Unstuck. The tuition does not include accommodations. Visit our Hotel & Travel page for information on our discounted room rate (book early to assure availability!) and to access our room and ride sharing site to help reduce costs.
I need a paper registration to give my employer for approval- what do I do?
Please register online with a minimum initial payment of $100. After completing registration you can print an invoice and have your institution send a check. Please make the check payable to: The Center for Mind-Body Medicine and send to: The Center for Mind-Body Medicine, 5225 Connecticut Ave, NW, Suite 414, Washington, DC 20015. We must receive your check prior to the deadline indicated on our Tuition page to avoid your card being charged the remaining balance. Contact payments@cmbm.org if there is a delay in obtaining a check.
Can I register over the phone/fax?
We encourage all attendees to register online in our online registration system - it only takes 5-10 minutes and is secure. It’s user friendly, but if you run into any troubles or cannot use the online registration due to disability please contact us at (202) 966-7338 x219.
Can I reserve a spot and register later? Will I be able to cancel if I register now?
We do not have a tentative registration process. You must register and pay a minimum of $100 by credit card to reserve a spot. Please check the Tution page for our current cancellation policy and related deadlines.
Do I have to be health professional to take the program?
The course is designed for healthcare professionals and students, and those working in one way or another with their community or those planning to do so in the future (for example, those changing careers). The program is not designed to be taken for the benefit of one’s own health or personal growth only. You are, however, welcomed to attend a Mind-Body Skills Group in your community or learn the techniques from our Best of Management Stress Kit. If your profession is not listed clearly in one of the tuition categories on the registration page, you should register using the second category for Allied Health Professionals
I need a visa invitation. How should I proceed?
Upon registration and payment in full, please email mindbody@cmbm.org to obtain your invitation letter.
We are interested in exhibiting. Whom should we contact?
Sorry, we don’t have any exhibitors at the program.
Do you have online programs? Can I purchase conference recordings since I can't attend?
Unfortunately, because this training has such large experiential portion, none of it can be taken online or as a long-distance course at this time.
I teach yoga or qigong and would like to teach at the Initial Mind-Body Medicine training. Whom do I contact?
Please email mindbody@cmbm.org with your name, a description of your practice, and your CV. You will be contacted if we are in need of an additional teacher.
How can I apply this information to my practice?

When & where is the next training going to be? When will you know? How much is it going to be?
We are currently planning the next training and will update the website and send out an announcement as soon as we know more. The tuition will be similar to the current prices. If you aren't already on our mailing list, be sure to join now to receive the upcoming program announcements.
What happens in the small mind-body skills groups?
In this initial training, in addition to the large group sessions, you will participate in 8 small groups, which many say is the heart of this training. This is basically the Mind-Body Skills Group model in action, with you as a participant, and a highly experiential way of understanding this work from the inside out. While you will never be forced to share beyond your comfort level, the process of practicing the skills, sharing your experience and deepening your personal awareness in connection with others will provide an understanding of this work beyond anything that could be learned from a lecture. Many participants describe the small group sessions as professionally, and sometimes personally, transformative.
I have lots of experience with mind-body medicine. Can I take the Advanced Mind-Body Medicine training right away?
Advanced Training is opened only to those who completed the Initial Mind-Body Medicine Professional Training Program. Sorry – no exceptions!
What is the Healing Our Troops program/package? Should I sign up for it?
Healing Our Troops participants attend the Initial Mind-Body Medicine program, including two working lunches specifically for providers working with military and veterans. After the program, they receive 10 hours of consultation to help them integrate the model into their lives and work and prepare them for attending the Advanced Training if they choose so. You should sign up for it only if majority of your work is with military, veterans or their families.
I find your Global Trauma Relief work very interesting, and want to become faculty. How do I do that?
Our faculty for Global Trauma Relief programs is chosen from among the most experienced faculty world-wide. To be considered in the future, the path starts with attending the Initial Mind-Body Medicine Training so you get to know the model, and so we can get to know each other.
Is there any research on your model?
Yes, please visit this link to learn about the research on our model, including a randomized controlled trial.
What is the difference between taking one of Center’s trainings and enrolling in the Saybrook College of Mind-Body Medicine?
The main difference of taking the Saybrook University program versus attending our trainings is whether you want a degree or not. The Saybrook program offers a degree, and you get to do other classes in addition to our programs. From the Center programs it includes attending the Initial Mind-Body Medicine, Advanced Mind-Body Medicine, supervision with our senior faculty and attending Food As Medicine program. Taking the Center’s programs only by themselves you might be able to get continuing education credits - depending on your profession and the actual program. If you are a Saybrook student and want to be Certified in Mind-Body Medicine by the Center, you still will need to apply into the Certification program and do some extra work after completing the Initial and Advanced Mind-Body Medicine. Visit www.saybrook.edu/mbm for further information.
