Greetings from James S. Gordon, MD, Founder & Director
The whole world has responded to the plight of the people of Haiti. So many people, organizations and countries have done what they can do, sharing expertise, supplies, prayers and financial support. What the Center can do is provide a program of accessible, practical, effective population-wide psychological healing— with your support. Our healing work in regions of the world traumatized by war and natural disaster has given us the skills and experience to move forward with confidence to help a nation heal, even in the face of such enormous pain. The Center, with our Haitian partners, is creating a program to be part of the rebuilding of Haiti, and we hope you'll join us. In this issue of our newsletter we share news of our Haiti exploratory trip, and updates on all our Global Trauma Relief Programs around the world, including our work with US troops, returning troops, veterans and their families. The Center is committed to helping the people who need help the most. We hope you’ll join us in supporting our profoundly effective work. |

Healing Haiti

The Center plans to bring our program of population-wide psychological healing to Haiti.
Over the next 4 years we expect to train 1500 Haitian doctors, nurses, mental health professionals, educators and community leaders. We will help them to heal their own trauma and deal with the ongoing stress of rebuilding Haiti.
Read about our Haiti program and about how you can help.

Global Trauma Relief Program Updates
Over the past 20 years, the Center has developed a unique Global Trauma Relief program using mind-body medicine to aid in population-wide
healing in areas of the world affected by war and natural disasters. Click
here to read about the current status
of our remarkable programs in Kosovo, Gaza, Israel and post-Katrina New Orleans, as well as with US troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan,
veterans and their families.
The world is full of trauma— it feels good to have a means to help with that. And if you are a health professional
interested in working with this program, keep in mind that all of our faculty who work with us both here and around the world are Certified in
Mind-Body Medicine by the Center. Click here to learn about our extensive professional trainings in mind-body medicine and Certification, and the Initial Mind-Body Medicine training coming up next fall that is
the first step on the path. |
