Kathie Madonna Swift, MS, RDN, LDN, is a leading educator, innovator and practitioner in the field of integrative medical nutrition. She has been the Education Director of Food As Medicine since the programs founding in 2001. She is the author of The Swift Diet: 4 Weeks to Mend the Belly, Lose the Weight, and Get Rid of the Bloat and co-author with Gerard Mullin, MD, of The Inside Tract: Your Good Gut Guide to Great Digestive Health.
Kathie spearheaded the pioneering functional medicine program at Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires, where she served as Nutrition Director for more than a decade. She has worked with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics serving as Chair of Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine. In 2012, Kathie became the first recipient of the Visionary Leadership Award for her dedication in educating RDs in this emerging area.
Kathie served on the Army Surgeon General’s Triad Performance Workshop to improve the health of the military and nation. She is a consultant to numerous organizations including Saybrook University College of Mind-Body Medicine and Yummico, and serves on the Integrative Medicine: A Clinician’s Journal advisory board.
Kathie is certified in Evidence-Based QiGong™ and enjoys integrating this energy-based practice in the nutrition workshops she leads around the country. Kathie and her husband, a retired Air Force pilot, are active in their community supporting programs for military veterans.
