Anjali Goel MD is a Board Certified Pediatrician with a specialty in integrative mental health. She splits her time between academic practice at the University of Minnesota and a small private practice in Saint Paul. At the University Dr. Goel sees children and teens in the Developmental and Behavioral Clinic and mentors pediatric residents. She developed her private practice to create a space where she could have more time with patients and meet the needs of her family without the constraints of a big system. In both spaces Dr. Goel has developed an approach that is respectful of the whole child and the their family. She actively uses self-hypnosis and mind body skills in her integrative approach to health.
Dr. Goel trained in Internal medicine and Pediatrics from the University of Minnesota. She practiced primary care for 10 years before turning her focus on the care of kids with mental health concerns. She completed a General Academic Pediatric Fellowship during which time she did research on the health disparities of children of immigrants and completed an MPH.
Dr. Goel is passionate about bringing mind body medicine to educators in her community. She has been running mind body skills groups and workshops for teachers in Saint Paul Public Schools and hopes to spread this work organically to children by way of their teachers.
Over the years Dr. Goel’s work has been to stay present to what fulfills her while not getting burned out by the system of medicine. She works hard to practice loving kindness to herself first and foremost so that she can bring this to her family, her patients, her peers and participants in mind body skills groups. She is a lifelong learner and always looking for ways to expand her knowledge base to help the children and families she cares for.
