Chad is a licensed clinical social worker that specializes in medical and radiation oncology. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois where his training included psychopathology, psychodiagnostics and school based mental health. Following graduation, Chad relocated to South Carolina where he worked extensively with psychiatric and substance abuse patients in an inpatient hospital setting. There, he was the lead therapist providing individual, family and marital therapy for both adults and adolescents. In 2003, Chad transitioned to the field of oncology. He is an oncology certified social worker at the Gibbs Cancer Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina and primarily works with individuals and families who are struggling with a cancer diagnosis. He has a special interest in guided imagery and meditation for patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Chad is also the manager for psychosocial oncology services at the Gibbs Center. Currently, Chad facilitates Mind-Body skills groups through the newly developed Center for Health and Healing at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. Chad is an avid triathlete and enjoys traveling with his family.
