Jennifer K. Pelton, CFRE is a veteran fundraiser and nonprofit manager with nearly thirty years of experience. Ms. Pelton’s career has included leadership positions in arts, legal services, and social justice organizations. In 2022, Ms. Pelton joined the Center for Mind Body Medicine as the Director of Development. Prior to this, as the lead fundraiser for both the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press and the Public Justice Center, she oversaw significant financial growth to fuel expansion of important services. Ms. Pelton also served as the Executive Director of the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra and worked with the Baltimore Chesapeake Bay Outward Bound program, the House of Ruth, and Safe Against Violence. Ms. Pelton has held the distinguished international credential of Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) since 2006 and she graduated from the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Faculty Training Academy in 2010. She was previously an officer of the AFP-Maryland Chapter Board of Directors. As a consultant and retreat facilitator, Ms. Pelton focuses her practice on supporting small shop practitioners and nurturing effective boards. Ms. Pelton has published numerous articles in the Grassroots Fundraising Journal and the Management Information Exchange Journal. She is the co-creator, with Linda Beeman, of a toolkit that helps nonprofit organizations build effective development plans.  In November 2022, Ms. Pelton will complete a Masters in Organizational Leadership from Adler University.  She lives in Baltimore, MD with her husband Jeff and is the proud mother of a theater director, a ballet dancer and a physicist.
