Dr. Afrim Blyta is a member of the CMBM Faculty. Dr. Blyta is engaged in CMBM’s global programs in Gaza, Israel, Haiti, the US, and most recently in Central Asia, Poland, and Ukraine. Dr. Blyta first encountered CMBM in 1999 as a Kosovan refugee, when he met Dr. James S. Gordon and other CMBM faculty. After the war, he played an active role in establishing mind-body medicine programs in Kosovo and served as the Country Co-Director of Mind-Body Medicine. Since 2001, mind-body medicine has been one of the official modalities within the whole mental health system in Kosovo.

Dr. Blyta is a neuropsychiatrist who specializes in epilepsy, cerebrovascular diseases, neurodegenerative disorders, and child development disorders. He is committed to the reform of Kosovo’s national health system and the education of Kosovan students and residents. Dr. Blyta is a Professor of Neurology, Psychiatry, and Medical Psychology at the University Medical School of Pristina, Kosovo, and previously served as the Head of the Neuropsychiatry and Neurology Departments, as well as the Deputy CEO of Education, at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo. Dr. Bluta is also the President of the Kosovo Neurological Society and Head of the National Council of Neuroscience of Kosovo. He is the co-owner of a successful private neurology and psychiatry clinic, and is a positive psychotherapy trainer in Wiesbaden, Germany.
