Amy B. Shinal is the Senior Clinical Advisor and a member of the CMBM Board of Directors. She is also an active member of the Amuta for Israel CMBM. Amy was the Clinical Director for over 15 years, and continues to advise and consult on clinical programs and content, supervision training and leadership development, and international program content and implementation. She has worked with CMBM in a variety of roles since 1999: Faculty, Staff, and Senior Supervisor and Trainer. She is experienced with CMBM’s work—from program conception and development through implementation—and has worked extensively with traumatized communities devastated by war and natural disaster. Amy has worked on the ground with national and global training programs for 20 years, and has has taught in CMBM’s CancerGuides program; Healing the Wounds of War; Professional and Advanced Training Programs in Mind-Body Medicine; Mind, Mood, and Food; and co-created CMBM’s Clinical Supervision model to train mind-body leaders around the world.
With over 30 years of clinical experience, Amy is an Integrative Psychotherapist in private practice, and brings together traditional and holistic approaches to psychotherapy and healing. She is trained in EMDR, mind-body work, energy medicine, spiritually oriented psychotherapy, and intuition development. Amy is currently completing certification in Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy. She consults with individuals in the US and overseas who are interested in cultivating self-awareness and intuition, deepening their skills, and healing their communities. She was also a former faculty member in Saybrook University’s mind-body medicine program.
Amy earned her BSW from Longwood College (now Longwood University) and her MSW from Virginia Commonwealth University. Amy’s experience working with trauma, coupled with her desire to foster self-awareness and soul growth, results in a collaborative and transformational approach to healing. In her spare time, Amy enjoys being in nature, gardening, hiking, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
