Ellen Fox-Snider is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor from Parkland, Florida. After the tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on February 14, 2018, in which her daughter survived a mass shooting, Ellen became involved in helping to heal the community. She engaged in the Broward County training by The Center for Mind-Body Medicine and became a Certified Mind-Body Medicine Educator. The Center for Mind-Body Medicine, located in Washington, DC, has “trained thousands to heal millions” in populations that have experienced trauma throughout the world for the past 30 years. Mrs. Fox-Snider is the cofounder of the Mind-Body Ambassador Club at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in which teens have become empowered to help themselves and their community through the use of evidenced-based mind-body skills and techniques, self-care and group support. This club is now in its third year and has spread to other schools in the county.
Ellen has facilitated mind-body skills groups and workshops for adults and students for Parkland and other communities. She is passionate about spreading mind-body skills, especially to children and teens to help equip them with the tools they need to cope with life’s stressors and traumas.
