Martha Anderson has been working with children and families for over 20 years in a variety of settings and continues to be moved and inspired by the wonderful people she has the privilege to work with. She began her career in New York City, and then worked in rural Pennsylvania before returning to her home state of Minnesota. She prefers working from a strength based approach empowering adults, children and their families to find solutions to the problems facing them. She strives to use creativity, compassion and humor in her work, and enjoys working collaboratively to solve problems associated with mental health symptoms. Martha is trained in a number of advanced techniques in trauma, and enjoys using her training and experience to mentor others in supervision. She also loves family and couples therapy and believes strongly in the power of these relationships to change and to heal. She has completed the process to become certified from the Center for Mind-Body Medicine, and is also doing supervision and is excited to bring these powerful, healing mindfulness based skills into her individual sessions, as well as offering mind-body skills groups to both adults and adolescents. She has also completed training in various trauma techniques and finds these useful in helping clients release trauma memories when they have become stuck. In her free time, you can find her spending time with her husband and two daughters, camping, hiking, and gardening or out walking the dogs.
