I’ve attended 5 or 6 Food As Medicine conferences in the last 7 or 8 years. I have been particularly inspired by what people are doing to make a difference within their communities. Since first attending FAM, I’ve started a successful wellness group where we cook together and exercise in the family medicine clinic where I work. We’ve gotten vending machines out of our building and junk food out of our breakroom. The ripple effect is taking hold in our larger organization.
