Your privacy is important to CMBM. CMBM recognizes that donors and visitors may be concerned about providing personal information to us and how CMBM treats that information. This policy applies to all information, whether collected offline or online. As a general policy, CMBM does not collect any personal information on its websites that identify you or any demographic information about you.
This privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) describes CMBM’s policy concerning the gathering and sharing of visitors’ information through the CMBM Site. It applies to all “CMBM Sites” – that is, all sites within the “CMBM.org” domain name.
What information does CMBM collect?
Personal information
The Site does not collect any personally-identifiable information about our Users, other than information that Users freely enter.
If you register for a newsletter, log on to certain CMBM Sites, request information, provide feedback, apply for a job, or join an electronic mailing list, you will be asked to provide personal information, such as your name, postal address, and email address. This information is collected only with your knowledge and permission, and is kept in secure CMBM databases and mailing lists.
CMBM may use your personal information to:
- Contact you – either in response to a query, or to send newsletters or other materials to you;
- Manage and process your job application;
- Confirm your registrations on the Site;
- Obtain payment for donations through the Site (via credit card);
- “Remember” your online profile and preferences;
- Help you quickly find information that is relevant to you based on your interests, and help us create site content most relevant to you.
If you are making a donation, you may be asked to provide your credit card or wire transfer details. These details are transferred to a secure, online payment service, hosted outside CMBM. Credit card information is not retained by CMBM.
Non-personal information
We collect certain non-personal information (data in a form that does not support direct association with any specific person or individual) by automated means when you visit the Site. Much of this information is collected through the use of third-party tracking services, such as Google Analytics. When gathered, this data is used in the aggregate to analyze trends and usage of the Site and to improve the Site’s usefulness, and not in a manner that is intended to identify you personally. In addition to the third-party tracking services mentioned above, we also collect this information through various other means, including cookies and IP addresses.
What if I don’t want to provide personal information?
Providing personal information on the CMBM Site is optional. If you choose not to provide personal information, you can still browse and use the CMBM Site, but you may not be able to carry out certain actions, such as make donations, sign up for a newsletter, or apply for a job.
What about information security?
CMBM does not sell or share the personally identifiable information you may volunteer on the CMBM site to any third party. Any information provided to CMBM by users of the CMBM Site will not be used in ways other than as set forth in this privacy policy, or in any Site-specific policies, or in ways to which you have explicitly consented. CMBM employs a range of technologies and security measures to protect the information maintained on our systems from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
All our employees and contractors who have access to, and are associated with the processing of personal data, are obliged to respect the confidentiality of official business matters, including personal data.
The CMBM Site contains links to sites external to the CMBM.org domain. CMBM is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such sites.

Tracking pixels and links
Mass email communications from CMBM may include tools that help measure campaign engagement, including tracking pixels and/or link tracking IDs. A tracking pixel is a tiny, invisible graphic in the bottom of an HTML email. Link tracking IDs allow CMBM to measure how often certain links are clicked and gauge overall interest in the email campaign. We are able to tie the information provided by tracking IDs to your personally-identifiable information, but we do not routinely do this. We are primarily interested in the aggregate performance of our online campaigns.
Several browsers offer a “do not track” setting through which users may opt out of being tracked by websites, including third-party analytics services, advertising networks, and social media platforms. If you choose to enable “do not track” in your web browser, your browser will add an HTTP header to your web traffic, signaling your preference. CMBM will honor your preferences, and you will not be tracked by Google Analytics.
Children
We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from or market to children under the age of 13.
