We hope you’ll join Dr. Jim Gordon for our next free online webinar on Friday, September 18 with retired New York City Police Department Lieutenant Thaddeus Gamory and Broward County Sheriff’s Department Captain C. Renee Peterson. Thaddeus, Renee and I will discuss how we can use the CMBM model to create programs of “Mindful Policing.”
Thaddeus is a member of our CMBM faculty and of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE), and a leader in bringing CMBM’s program of self-care and group support to police, other first responders, and veterans in Broward County, Florida. Recently, his son Noah, who was peacefully protesting the killing of Daniel Prude by the Rochester Police Department, was seriously injured by officers of that department.
Renee, who has been a criminal justice professional for 22 years, joined the Broward Sheriff’s Office in 2002 and was promoted to the rank of Captain in November of 2019. She is a member of NOBLE, is currently serving as an adjunct instructor for police and corrections cadets at Broward College Institute of Public Safety, and has recently completed the first phase of CMBM’s Professional Training Program in mind-body medicine.
This webinar is approximately 60 minutes in length, and will be broadcast live at 3PM ET on Friday, September 18 LIVE on Facebook and YouTube. In the latter part of the webinar, they will answer audience-submitted questions.
