Women’s Wellbeing in the Time of COVID-19

August 28, 2020

On Friday, September 4, CMBM Founder and CEO, James S. Gordon, MD, hosted a conversation with Aviva Romm, MD, on “Women’s Wellbeing in the Time of COVID-19.”

In recent months, Dr. Romm, a Yale-trained physician who is also a midwife and herbalist, has been leading a national movement to ensure that while hospital and health care systems struggle with the challenges of COVID-19, childbirth remains safe and sacred. We’ll be discussing the critical importance of this movement to preventing birth trauma for both infants and their mothers.

They’ll also be exploring the many ways that the pandemic and our reckoning with racism are exposing health care inequities and how all women have been affected by the multiple stresses with which the pandemic has confronted them.

Dr. Romm, the author of the bestselling The Adrenal Thyroid Revolution, and the classic book The Natural Pregnancy Book, will discuss strategies for dealing with chronic emotional and physical problems that have been exacerbated by the pandemic, as well as practical, healthy, low-cost ways to eat and move, mobilize the imagination, and deal with family stress during this challenging and disorienting time.

This webinar is approximately 60 minutes in length.
