Emily Burd-Thomas is an Assistant Programs Manager.

Emily is the co-founder of a nonprofit in Kenya that serves underprivileged children, Dignified Children International. She brings her passion for post-conflict trauma healing and her belief that education is key to alleviating conflict to this organization.

Emily earned her BA in Government and International Affairs from George Mason University. She then went on to earn her MSc in Mediterranean Security Studies from the University of Malta and her MA in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University. She received training in methods of negotiation, diplomacy, and advanced analysis of conflict from the Mediterranean Academy for Diplomatic Studies.
