Supervisor, Certified Alumni | she/her

Cynthia New Holy is a Supervisor and is certified in Mind-Body Medicine.

Cynthia is a South Dakota state certified elementary teacher at Isna Wica Owayawa (Loneman School) in Oglala, SD on the Pine Ridge Reservation. She is a domestic violence survivor and has turned her trauma into healing through her faith, family, ceremony, and mind-body medicine. In 2019, Cynthia created “Oglala Women’s Healing Circle: Mind Body Medicine,” a global organization  bringing together Indigenous men and women from the United States, Canada, and Mexico to collectively heal from trauma. She enjoys making inspirational videos on social media using her intuitive writing that started as poetry and short stories when she was a young girl. Cynthia uses her intuitive and channeled wisdom to help inspire others. It is her vision that the healing she found in her life helps other women to also find healing in themselves. “The negative cycles end with our own healing and when our women heal the nation heals.”

Cynthia is the wife of enrolled member Dorian New Holy of the Oglala Sioux Tribe and mother to their five children: Kiyon, Aurora, Nora, Brandy, and Liam.
