Elizabeth Henderson is the Development Manager. She oversees the development of philanthropic partnerships that are key to sustaining and scaling CMBM’s powerful model of population-wide trauma healing. Elizabeth brings nearly a decade of nonprofit development experience, as well as a longstanding passion for exploring the role of the arts and creative expression in healing and flourishing.
Elizabeth was previously Senior Grants Manager at The 92nd Street Y, New York, where she worked in institutional development for more than 6 years. During that time, she collaborated closely with program staff to secure grants that helped bring innovative arts education curricula to hundreds of thousands of NYC public school students; develop a new online learning platform; and launch NYC’s first citywide Teen Arts Week. Elizabeth has also served as Administrative Director of modern dance company Cornfield Dance and as an English and dance educator in Madrid, Spain.
Elizabeth offers a strong understanding of best practices in communications and nonprofit management. She holds a BA in Journalism and Mass Communication from UNC-Chapel Hill and a MA in Performing Arts Administration from NYU. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors, practicing yoga, dancing, traveling, exploring new restaurants and recipes, and performing and teaching improv comedy.
