Dr. Jamil A. Attiis the Country Director of CMBM Gaza. He leads the development of programmatic interventions and provides technical assistance and strategic planning for the psycho-social sectors, and has for the past 18 years. He also works in psycho-social intervention projects in Gaza, and provided leadership to child-protection staff. He trains physicians, journalists, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and others both locally, and internationally in Jordan, Haiti, the US, and Turkey.
Dr. Atti has also worked with the Save the Children Federation and World Refugee Children to provide program support and guidance. He has also trained counselors on how to provide community support for social and health issues, and children’s issues including childhood PTSD. He has also taught family and school counseling at Birzeit University.
Dr. Atti holds a BA in Social Work, an MA in Community Mental Health, and earned his PhD in Psychology and Mind-Body Medicine from Saybrook University. He trained with the Ministry of Social Affairs, Human Preservation Center and the Community Training Center and Crisis Management. He has published research in various international journals, including the Stress Management Journal and the APA.
