Julie Kilpatrick is a public health nurse and member of the CMBM Faculty and Supervision Team. She is certified in Mind-Body Medicine and leads online Mind-Body Skills Groups and workshops. With CMBM, Julie has worked with Native American schools and organizations, and local nonprofits in South Dakota and in the Twin Cities.
Julie has worked as a Registered Nurse, OB-GYN Nurse Practitioner, and Public Health Nurse over 35 years in a variety of settings: hospital, clinics, camps for persons with disabilities, high school-based clinics and in a local public health department in family health and healthy communities’ teams. Most recently she worked with Minnesota state funding for healthy communities in the areas of chronic disease prevention and mental health promotion. As a public health professional, Julie has interests in health promotion, health disparities and population health.
Julie earned her BSN, PHN in Nursing from The College of St. Teresa, MN and her OB-GYN nurse practitioner certificate from Planned Parenthood of North Central States MN. She pursued training with CMBM to learn about self-care in relation to being a nurse and a full-time caregiver of her son, a person with disabilities. CMBM training opened a large door to her understanding of transformative self-care practices. Julie enjoys blending her love of the outdoors with her family and friends and volunteering as a watershed steward.
