Dr. Marisa Anaya is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine with 18 years of clinical experience. She maintains acupuncture practices in Manhattan and Greenwich, Connecticut, where she is known for the compassion and connection she brings to patient care.
Marisa practices from a whole-person framework, grounded in the understanding that physical health is intricately linked with emotional well-being. Her own initial training with The Center for Mind-Body Medicine was profoundly transformative, and she pursued CMBM’s signature-track certification as a natural next step, one that would enable her to help others deepen their self-awareness as they navigate demanding lives. She now leads Mind-Body Skills groups online and enjoys watching participants grow as they learn the techniques and share their stories.
Marisa holds degrees from the University of Michigan, King’s College London, and Pacific College of Health and Science. Alongside her private practice, she has provided care to underserved communities in India through the Madurai Charitable Trust, an experience that sharpened her understanding of health equity and affirmed the universality of the mind-body connection.
Marisa is the proud mom of three boys, two human and one furry. She travels overseas whenever she can, most often to Spain, where she has a large and loving family.
