Mike Weddle is a retired physician who until recently was the Medical Director of a multi-county network of substance use disorder clinics and treatment facilities in New York. Prior to that, he was Medical Director of an Emergency Department in Western Pennsylvania, and a 30 year Board certified Emergency Physician. His training with the Center for Mind Body Medicine began in 2014 and he received his certification in 2018. He has used mindfulness techniques in addiction counseling and treatment, including Mindfulness Oriented Recovery Enhancement (MORE). He has taught several courses, including Mind-Body Approaches to Addiction Therapy, The Art of Wellness (incorporating art into self care), Writing into Wellness, and Deep Listening in Stressful Times. In addition to his 8-12 week community skills groups, Mike spent several years facilitating a monthly group in a maximum-security prison.
