For as long as she can remember, Olivia Weinstock had an innate love for children. She founded her first company at the age of 10: a summer camp hosted in her backyard. The chaos of 100 toddlers wasn’t enough to dissuade her from creating a career out of care. At age 20, she started her second business: one that would become the modern-day staffing platform for child care centers. Weinstock called this company Tandem, a nod to workers and programs working together to better the industry. Tandem seeks to address the pervasive understaffing issue that affects 80% of early childhood education facilities in our country. The company understands the evolving expectations of the hourly-paid workforce and has created a platform that appeals to the worker. Weinstock is on a mission to fix this systemic problem, enabling all parents in our country to know that adequate staffing will not be their barrier to quality child care.
Weinstock graduated from the University of Michigan in 2021 with a degree in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience. She serves on the board of Our Family Culture, a platform that gives parents practical tools to cultivate emotional resilience, shared values, and a strong sense of identity within their families. The role complements her work at Tandem by extending her commitment to children beyond the child care setting and into the home, where their earliest relationships and values take shape. She also serves on the board of BirdieLight, a harm-reduction organization founded after her brother died from accidental fentanyl ingestion in 2021. Across her entrepreneurial and nonprofit work, Weinstock is committed to building stronger systems of care and helping children, families, and communities thrive.
