Omer Shaheen is the Technical Supervisor of CMBM Gaza and a member of the CMBM Faculty. He leads Mind-Body Skills Groups for healthcare professionals, psychologists, and those living with non-communicable diseases in primary care centers. Omer also provides supervision and training in mind-body medicine to those in the healthcare field.
Omer has over 18 years of experience as a therapist, psychologist, school counselor, and clinical supervisor for various projects led by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). At UNRWA, Omer has provided technical support and supervision, and has designed mental health and psychosocial support manuals and treatment plans. He has also worked as a therapist for the Healing and Hope Project, where he has worked with orphans and their guardians.
Omer holds an MA in Mental Health, and diplomas in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Psychotherapy for Children and Adults. He loves reading, traveling, drawing, and listening to music.
