Dr. Pat Van Kley is a member of the CMBM Faculty. Certified in Mind-Body Medicine, she leads Mind-Body Medicine Fundamentals and Advanced Professional Training programs, and is a facilitator of Mind-Body Skills Groups. Some of her most recent work includes trainings at Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis and working with tribal and school leaders at the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.
Dr. Van Kley is a licensed psychologist with 40 years of experience in residential, community, private, and academic settings. She is the owner of Fort Meigs Wellness & Behavioral Health, LLC, where her areas of expertise include treatment of depression and anxiety disorders, chronic illness, and coping with major life transitions such as loss. She also developed and taught a course on mindful meditation and health at Saybrook University alongside José Calderon-Abbo, MD. Dr. Van Kley incorporates mind-body medicine into her practice, and conducts mind-body spirit day and weekend retreats. She also facilitates book study groups, where she leads discussions on the works of Pema Chodron, Jack Kornfield, Sharon Salzberg, and Brené Brown.
Dr. Van Kley earned her PhD from the University of Toledo, and her Master of Rehabilitation Counseling from Bowling Green State University. She studied relational and cultural therapy at the Stone Center, Wellesley College. Dr. Van Kley has spent the last 30 years studying Vipassana meditation, and practices Tai Chi QiGong at Spirit Rock Meditation Center.
