Zahra (Raha) D. Hanifeh

Certified Alumni - Signature Track | she/her

Zahra Hanifeh is a Clinical Psychologist and Dynamic Psychotherapist (ISTDP) who works with adults in individual psychotherapy. Her clinical work is grounded in a psychodynamic understanding of human experience, with a particular interest in helping people develop a deeper awareness of their emotions, inner experiences, and interpersonal patterns.

As a CMBM Facilitator and Signature Certified practitioner, Zahra brings this depth of psychological understanding into group skills training. She sees each person as a dynamic and continually developing human being, whose mind, body, emotions, and spirit are deeply interconnected. From this perspective, human experience is shaped by an ongoing interaction between the past, present, and the possibilities of the future.

In her group work, Zahra combines the experiential practices of mind-body medicine with a psychodynamic perspective. She aims to create a space where participants can explore their inner experiences with curiosity, compassion, and greater awareness, while developing practical skills for self-regulation, connection, and growth.

As a CMBM Supervisor, Zahra supports supervisees in going deeper into their own emotional experiences, becoming more familiar with and accepting of their feelings, and finding ways to express them authentically. She believes that greater self-awareness and emotional presence in the facilitator can enrich and strengthen the group process.

Zahra approaches supervision as a collaborative process of learning and growth. She values learning not only from her supervisees but also from her own supervisors, and continues to deepen her capacity to remain present with her thoughts, feelings, and experiences in each moment.

She will join the CMBM Internship program in October 2026, continuing her journey of learning, practice, and contribution to the CMBM community.
