Today is Dr. Jim Gordon’s birthday!
If you know Jim as we do, you will not be surprised he has been very busy this year!
Whether leading workshops for the U.S. Capitol Police and their families, bringing hope and healing to the people of Ukraine or Uvalde, Texas, or nurturing a new mind-body medicine program inside a women’s prison in Indiana, Jim has shown up as he always does: with an open heart, generous spirit, and the ability to help people find light in challenging times.
Jim founded The Center for Mind-Body Medicine 31 years ago. Since then, he and our faculty have trained thousands of people who have, in turn, helped millions heal from trauma and build resilience in the wake of enormous tragedy. Today, CMBM is a global leader in trauma healing.
When trauma comes, Jim never hesitates to be of service. He helps people heal in war-torn places like Kosovo, Gaza, Israel, South Sudan, and Ukraine. He helps transform grief in communities like Pine Ridge Reservation; Allegheny County, Maryland; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Broward County, Florida that are shaken by suicide epidemics, opioid crises, or mass shootings. And he helps rebuild hope after devastating climate disasters like in Houston, Haiti, Puerto Rico, and California.
The Center for Mind-Body Medicine is Jim’s gift to the world. And our work is possible because of your generous support.
