Israelis, Palestinians Learn Healing for Trauma Victims from US Specialist

James S. Gordon, MD taught techniques like deep breathing, guided imagery and meditation in Jerusalem Thursday to therapists with patients suffering from PTSD. Having trained more than 400 Israeli and Palestinian mental health professionals in the last four years, Dr. Gordon and his team have witnessed how these communities exhibit high levels of stress. By sharing mind-body medicine techniques and support systems, they provide “new coping tools” for both Israelis and Palenstinians as they navigate trauma.
