Misunderstanding and Prejudice, Inequity, and Racism

August 21, 2020

This Friday, August 21st, Dr. James Gordon will be presenting our next free self-care webinar, “Misunderstanding and Prejudice, Inequity, and Racism: Using Mind-Body Medicine to Free us from Their Legacy”. This special webinar features a discussion with his friend, colleague, and CMBM Senior Faculty Member, Dr. Rita Anita Linger.

Rita Anita is a Human Scientist, whose life’s work is steeped in holistic justice, equity, inclusion, health and wellness. For over 30 years, she has been working within diverse communities to build capacity for an enhanced quality of life, self-transformation and empowerment. She serves as Faculty and Program Developer at the University of North Carolina, Integrative Medicine and Rehabilitation Program, and is the Executive Director of Recovery Communities of North Carolina, a statewide recovery support organization.

They will explore together the ways that mind-body medicine can be used to promote better understanding among people who have been separated from and fearful of one another as well as those who have suffered significant trauma from racism, inequities, and prejudice.

This webinar is approximately 60 minutes in length. In the latter part of the webinar, Rita-Anita and Dr. Gordon answer audience questions.
